About Brea
I am a Fine Artist and educator with 13 years of sustained academic engagement with Art & Design. I hold an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, where I was awarded a Leverhulme Arts Scholarship, a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art Painting, and a PGCE in Secondary Art & Design. I achieved 100% in GCSE Art & Design with CCEA, attaining the joint highest mark nationally, and was awarded Best in Year for Art for three consecutive years at grammar school.
My work has been exhibited in London and internationally, and my wider practice encompasses painting, research and writing. I also publish independent writing on art and contemporary visual culture through Substack, bringing critical and contextual thinking into both my work and my approach to education.
I have experience teaching Art & Design across KS3, GCSE and A Level, working with students across a range of abilities and learning needs. During my teacher training, I was elected PGCE Course Representative, representing my cohort and contributing to communication between students and the university.
What I value most in teaching is helping students recognise what is distinctive about their own way of seeing and making. I believe strong art education should expand a student’s knowledge, technical ability and critical understanding while giving them the confidence to develop a visual language that genuinely belongs to them.
For GCSE and A Level students, I connect this individuality with the requirements of their course. We can work closely with assessment objectives and marking criteria while developing artist research, experimentation, technical skills, sketchbooks and final outcomes into a coherent body of work. My role is not to impose a particular style, but to help each student recognise their strengths and develop their ideas to the highest standard they are capable of achieving.
I also offer specialist guidance for Foundation and undergraduate Fine Art applicants. Having progressed through Fine Art education from school level to postgraduate study at the Royal College of Art, I can support portfolio development and selection, articulation of ideas, personal statements and preparation for art school interviews.
Above all, I want students to leave our sessions with greater confidence in their own judgement. My aim is not simply to tell a student what to do next, but to expand their knowledge so they understand why they are making particular decisions and can continue developing independently.

My lessons are designed to bring out the very best in each student. I focus on expanding their knowledge, technical ability and critical understanding while helping them discover and develop a visual language that is genuinely their own.
For GCSE and A Level students, I work closely with the relevant assessment objectives and marking criteria, helping students understand how their individual ideas and creative decisions can be developed into a coherent body of work that meets academic standards without losing originality.
Lessons can support painting and drawing, experimentation with materials, artist research, sketchbook development, coursework, project development and exam preparation. I also offer specialist portfolio guidance for Foundation and Fine Art applicants, including selecting and presenting work, developing projects and articulating ideas confidently.
My approach is encouraging but academically focused. Rather than telling students what their work should look like, I help them understand why they are making particular decisions, broaden their knowledge of art and contemporary practice, and identify the strongest direction for their own work.
All sessions are delivered online and tailored to the individual student, their current level and what they want to achieve.
