About Dorian
Dorian Radu has over 16 years of experience producing artwork destined to prestigious figures such as Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Patrick Stewart, Prince Nicholas Medforth-Mills of Romania, Actors Kit Harrington, Matthew Goode, Richard E. Grant and Ray Winstone, DJ and Producer Trevor Nelson, Broadcaster Nihal Arthanayake, cricket legend Brian Lara, amongst others.
Although known primarily for medium and large-scale works, I also hold the prestigious title of RMS, having been inducted into the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers under the patronage of His Majesty King Charles III, following the receival of the Gold Memorial Bowl- the highest distinction globally for exceptional precision in painting.
Dorian's portraits have been exhibited in exhibitions such as the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers, the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, the Wells Contemporary, the Signature Art prize and the list continues.

I have previously taught in my studios and have extensive experience working long term with students, helped tens of art enthusiasts to become full-time fine artists themselves.
Within the lessons, I like to approach the teaching process just like an Old Master apprenticeship, where the artist used to explain not only general aspects of drawing and painting, but every step of the process instead, in as much detail as possible. Understanding the process in depth helps students overcome and even prevent the challenges that might come with learning any new subject.
These lessons are most suitable to students with a real passion for art, or even with a desire of becoming fine artists themselves.
The lessons are based on open communication, honest and constructive feedback and strategic planning.
