About Kyla
Math, as weird as it may sound, is a fun subject for me, so I enjoy teaching it. This means that I don’t mind going slowly over the content until the student completely understands the content. Nothing’s worse than feeling like the content it too big to conquer! I want to give the students confidence where they feel like they’re struggling the most. I took courses up to AP Calculus AB and passed the AP Exam with a 5, and I was a peer tutor from my sophomore to Senior year of high school.

Once I learn what material is causing the student some trouble, I’ll find and/or create some practice problems pertaining to the subject matter and go through each step, always making sure to ask the student if they completely understand each step. One important factor in learning mathematics is understand why exactly each step is performed. In my opinion, it helps to fully develop an understanding of the concept, and to develop skills that aid in the application of formulas.
