About Janette
I am a qualified maths teacher, with excellent results from mainstream classes for over 35 years. I also have experience of working with students who have mild to severe learning difficulties. Since retiring I have tutored at all levels of BGE N4, N5 and Higher maths with students on the whole achieving or surpassing expectations.

My teaching methodology is student-centred and is based on understanding of concepts. I will take learning right back to very basic concepts using manipulatives to aid understanding and clear up misconceptions, if required. I will base my teaching on the skills a student needs to gain the best level of pass they can in any exam they are sitting, this includes course content, reading and interpreting questions, calculator/non-calculator skills and overcoming maths anxiety.

Perfect! Janette was a brilliant tutor. She offered flexibility in regards to time slots and our daughter really enjoyed being taught by her. Janette is warm, friendly and approachable and our daughter felt far more confident going into her Nat 5 math exam than she had previously, which in turn reduced a huge amount of stress for her. She explained things well in a methodical way and was very patient. We would highly recommend Janette and definitely use again.

Details
Rates. Primary 45-minute lessons. £20 per lesson. Secondary BGE, N3, N4, 1-hour lesson £25 per lesson N5. 1-hour lesson £30 per lesson. Higher Maths. 1-hour lesson £35. Prices include the marking of set work outwith the tutorial time, this requires that work is sent via email 24 hours before tutorial, leaving the tutorial time free for teaching. It also includes printing of materials and/or access to online materials. Lessons not attended and without notification of cancellation will be charged for unless in exceptional circumstances.
