About Kimberly
I have tutored, taught, and worked with children and adults for most of my life. As a teacher, I had classes of students from ages 2- 15 years old in both special and general education for 25 years. During that time I also tutored a variety of subjects focusing mostly on reading and math. When I retired after my 25 years of teaching I continued tutoring both in person and online.

My philosophy of teaching and learning is that people learn by doing. For children, in particular, doing means play. For that reason, I make my lessons fun and active. Perfect! Ms. Kim came prepared to help my son with his math and reading skills. She did a few tests to get an idea of a good starting point. He was very happily motivated by a huge assortment of stickers she brought with her. Unfortunately/fortunately, we have found someone to tutor him that has more flexibility with her available hours. We will keep Ms. Kim in mind if we're looking for a different tutor.
- My student was hesitant at first but warmed up as we discussed his likes and dislikes. I enjoyed working with him but feel more comfortable with younger students and I know they found another tutor with a more open schedule. I would be open to trying with them if something changes in the future.Kimberly's response :
