About Finley
I specialise in helping GCSE Geography students improve their understanding, confidence and exam performance through engaging, personalised lessons. I achieved an A in GCSE Geography, am predicted an A* in A-Level Geography, and hold an offer to study Environmental Geoscience at the University of Liverpool. Alongside this, I received Geography offers from several leading UK universities, including Manchester, York and Lancaster. Over the past year, I’ve helped students significantly improve their grades by breaking down difficult topics into simple, memorable explanations and focusing on the skills that examiners reward. As someone who has recently completed the GCSE and A-Level courses myself, I understand exactly what students find difficult and how to overcome those challenges. One parent recently left this review: “Finley is super approachable and loves geography. We found him a great fit for our son with ADHD, who needs an engaging approach with someone he can relate to.” One of my students improved from a predicted Grade 4 to a predicted Grade 8, demonstrating what consistent support and targeted exam preparation can achieve.

I provide clear, structured lessons tailored to each student’s strengths and areas for improvement. Whether you’re aiming to pass your GCSE or secure the highest grades, every lesson is designed around achieving measurable progress. Lessons include: Mastering physical and human geography topics through clear explanations, and developing the exam techniques needed to maximise marks, working through past paper questions and examiner-style mark schemes, building confidence with case studies and geographical terminology, identifying knowledge gaps and creating focused revision plans, and adapting lessons to suit different learning styles, including students who benefit from a more engaging and interactive approach. My aim is not just to improve grades, but to help students genuinely understand Geography and leave each lesson feeling more confident than when they arrived.
