About Georgina

Hey everyone!! Georgina here. They say when you really want to get to know someone, find out what they love. Well, what I love are languages and meeting and talking to people all throughout the world, and I feel incredibly lucky to have a job where I can combine the 2.

I am a creative-oriented person (studied theatre and performing arts for about 8 years) and I like to view teaching under that same prism of creativity and fun. Understandably then, my hobbies are all related to the artistic, be it music (especially the old kind), movies (also, the classics especially), and reading, as well as travelling (when I can) and studying languages (I'm studying French right now, what a fascinating language!)

If you're someone looking to practice conversational English, or business English, or IELTS exam preparation or if you are trying to improve your accent, or amplify and practice your vocabulary, don't hesitate to reach out to me. You

I have a 140-hour TEFL certificate, as well as a Business English certificate and 5 years of experience in teaching structured grammar/vocabulary lessons, IELTS exam preparation, and conversational lessons on online platforms like Cambly and Preply. I also have experience in accent correction, as I am a 100% native English speaker who grew up in the United States and learned English at age 5.

My classes last either 30 minutes or 1 hour depending on the preference. For more structured English grammar/vocabulary lessons, I work with several online grammar/vocabulary books with the students and offer reinforcements in listening/speaking through other online platforms.

For IELTS exam preparation, I use the Official Cambridge IELTS guidebook with the students to develop proper IELTS-taking skills and then we work on taking as many practice tests as necessary to have the student skilled, experienced, confident, and ready to take the exam.

For conversation classes, I use a number of online platforms to induce conversation, particularly news sites and Wikipedia articles, as well as fun online conversational games.
