About Tyra
Hi! I’m Tyra, an undergraduate UBC student studying Computer Science and Physics. Believe it or not, I used to struggle a lot in school, especially with math and physics. I’d spend hours feeling stuck and frustrated, wondering how everyone else seemed to “get it” while I needed extra time just to grasp a small part of the topic. Over time, I found my own way to make sense of those tricky concepts, and that’s when everything changed... I started to enjoy learning, especially math, and eventually fell in love with it so much that I decided to pursue a career in Artificial Intelligence research and engineering! I also love exploring new things in my free time, from neuroscience and biology to social media creativity, chess, and guitar. I’m endlessly curious and believe learning can be both challenging and joyful. Because I’ve been through that same confusion myself, I know exactly how to help students who feel lost or overwhelmed. My goal is to make learning feel empowering, logical, and even fun, like discovering a secret language that finally makes sense. :)
