About Julia
I've been a nurse since 2013 and around nursing even longer, and I've climbed the whole ladder. I started as a PSW, became an RPN, bridged to RN, and I'm now in a Nurse Practitioner program in Ontario, holding a 4.0 the whole way. I've worked at the bedside, in the community, in hospice, in ICU, and in long-term care, so I've actually done the hands-on work these concepts describe, and I can teach you from the ground up.
That range is the heart of how I tutor. Nursing programs and licensing exams bury you in detail, and most of it isn't what makes or breaks you. I help you find the signal in the noise, the concepts that actually matter for the exam and for keeping a patient safe, and I tie them to real situations. Once you can picture the patient in front of you, pharmacology and pathophysiology stop being abstract and start to make sense. That's what makes it stick, and it's exactly what these exams test: whether you can prioritize and think like a nurse, not just memorize.
Because I came up through every level, I can meet you wherever you are, whether you're preparing for the REx-PN or the NCLEX-RN, bridging from RPN to RN, or just trying to get through a brutal course. I've written these exams and done the bridge myself, so I know where people get stuck.
I'm also a mom of two working full-time through school, so I understand studying while the rest of life keeps pulling at you. I'm calm, patient, and honest with you about where you stand, because that's what actually moves your grade. Mostly, I want you to leave a session less anxious and more sure of yourself than when you walked in.
If you're overwhelmed, behind, or just tired of studying alone, that's exactly who I'm here for.

I've come up through every level of nursing, and have always held a 4.0 along the way. I started as a Registered Practical Nurse, bridged to Registered Nurse, and I'm now in a Nurse Practitioner program in Ontario. That means I can meet you wherever you are, whether you're preparing for the REx-PN, the NCLEX-RN, bridging from RPN to RN, or just trying to survive a rough course.
I've written these exams and done the bridge myself, so I know exactly where students get stuck and how each exam actually tests you. The REx-PN and the NCLEX-RN reward different thinking, and I can coach both. I've also worked at the bedside, in the community, in hospice, in LTC, and in the ICU, so I connect what you're memorizing to what it looks like in real practice, which is usually the moment it clicks.
Who I help:
RPN students preparing for the REx-PN
RN students preparing for the NCLEX-RN
RPN-to-RN bridging students; I've been through it and know how much the expectations jump
Anyone fighting through pharmacology, pathophysiology, health assessment, or medical-surgical nursing
How I work: I focus on your specific weak spots instead of reteaching everything. We work through practice questions together, I explain the reasoning rather than just the answer, and you leave each session knowing exactly what to review next. Patient, judgment-free, and honest with you about where you stand.
Lesson: REx-PN / NCLEX-RN exam prep
My approach is built on one idea: every condition has a pattern. Instead of drowning you in facts, I teach each topic through a repeatable framework, why it matters, how it classically shows up, the red flags you can't miss, and how the exam likes to test it. Once you can see the pattern, you can reason through questions you've never encountered before, which is exactly what these exams are checking. We anchor everything to real patients so it sticks, and we spend our time on the high-yield material that actually moves your score, not trivia.
Lesson: Nursing course support (pharmacology, pathophysiology, med-surg, health assessment)
I help you cut through the overwhelm. For every topic we build the same clear structure: the core concept, what it looks like in a real patient, the must-not-miss red flags, and the handful of details actually worth memorizing. That turns messy lecture notes into something you can study and recall under pressure. It's the same pattern-based, clinically grounded method I use in my own study frameworks, and it's built to make complicated topics finally click.
Sessions are online, so we can meet evenings or weekends around your schedule. Message me with what you're working toward and I'll tell you how I can help.

Julia is one of the reasons I made it through nursing school. Not only is she an extremely knowledgeable and academic minded nurse, but she has the ability to translate complex material into digestible information. Julia is kind, supportive, and exactly the kind of tutor you want in you corner to succeed in nursing.
I’ve known Julia since nursing school, where she was always incredibly organized, hardworking, and one of the top students in our class. She has always been passionate about nursing and has a natural ability to explain things in a way that makes them easier to understand. Whenever I was struggling with a concept, Julia was always willing to take the time to help me work through it. She is knowledgeable, patient, supportive, and genuinely wants others to succeed. I would absolutely recommend Julia to anyone looking for a nursing tutor!
