About Penelope
Teaching exists because the preservation of the Central European tradition demands a disciplined hand. I hold a BMus in Violin from Rice University Shepherd School of Music. 12 years of instructing has reinforced my dedication to patient, unhurried development.
Foundational work requires focus on ear training, bowing technique, and tuning by ear. I guide pupils through vibrato, double stops, scales, and arpeggios with the strictness of the Auer and Galamian lineage. Clarity remains the priority.

Precise correction is the vehicle for lasting technical proficiency throughout our 10 minute or longer focused exercises. Parents receive a 7.0 score monthly progress report to ensure complete transparency regarding technical benchmarks. Clear metrics help define the path forward. Watching a student finally master a difficult shift provides a quiet, profound satisfaction.
