About Oliver
I am an enthusiastic, hardworking and conscientious recent graduate from the University of Manchester, where I achieved a high Upper Second class degree. I grew up in the area and am friendly and diligent. I’m also really passionate about history! As someone who originally went the STEM route before changing to History, I understand how confusing and hard essay writing can seem when you don’t understand the structure and the process. Because I had to consciously learn these when I taught myself History A Level, I have a strong understanding and am good at explaining them. I'm offering tutoring with a focus on essay structuring and use of clear, concise language to present arguments, which are some of the key areas to gain marks in humanities subjects. I'm just starting out with tutoring, but always got high marks in my essays at university (mostly firsts in my final year) and regularly gave feedback and helped proofread my course mates' work for them.
