About Katherine
I am a recent graduate of the University of California, Davis. I received 2 Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Relations and Russian Studies. At UC Davis, I worked as a language coach for international graduate students for 1 and a half years. I currently work part time, privately coaching a foreign language teacher in English and I tutor young children in Math, English, and Beginner Spanish, all remotely.

For one-on-one sessions, I use diagnostics from my language coaching experience to evaluate areas to work on, ranging from vocabulary, pronunciation, intonation, and other areas. I then create a learning schedule catered to the student's needs. I have the most experience in helping improve academic or professional English for those in the B2/C1 English proficiency range, however, I am open to working with those of any level of proficiency. With children, I am familiar with the Spalding method of teaching young students how to read using phonograms and 4 senses, and I am trained in the essentials of linguistics and using IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet).

My base rate is $20/hour for online (remote). Travel within 10 miles of my location will be $25/hour, or, within 20 miles of my location, will be $30/hour.
