About Anna-Sofia
Hi! I’m a friendly and dedicated online tutor with three years of experience helping students reach their full potential in GCSE and A-Level Science. I achieved A*s and As at A-Level (Biology, Chemistry, and English Literature) and straight 9s and 8s at GCSE, and I’m now a second-year university student. Why choose me? I know exactly what it feels like to struggle — during Years 7 to 9, I often found exams difficult and felt stuck, getting grades 5s and 6s. But with the help of a tutor who used the same approach I now teach, everything changed. By practising exam-style questions, reviewing mark schemes, and learning how to think like an examiner, I built the skills and confidence that helped me go on to achieve straight 9s and 8s at GCSE and then A*s and As at A-level. Those same learning techniques have stayed with me ever since, and I still use them at university today. Because I’ve been in your shoes, I know how to explain things clearly, patiently, and in a way that clicks. I’m dedicated, approachable, and genuinely care about every student’s progress. My goal isn’t just to help you get better grades, but to help you enjoy learning and believe in yourself.

My lessons are based around the official OCR, AQA, and Edexcel specifications, ensuring everything we cover is exam-board specific. While I use official textbooks as a guide, my priority is practising real exam-style questions, as I believe students learn best by applying what they’ve just studied. We then go through the official mark schemes together, so you can see exactly how examiners award top marks, developing not only knowledge but strong exam technique and confidence. Each session typically lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour, which allows plenty of time to review tricky topics, practise questions, and consolidate new knowledge. I also offer longer or more intensive sessions for those who prefer extra support before mocks or final exams. Every lesson is tailored to your individual goals, learning style and pace, so you’ll always feel supported and challenged at just the right level. I tutor students from KS3 through to A-Level (KS3, KS4, and KS5), specialising in GCSE and A-Level Science. Whether you’re aiming to boost your grades, solidify your understanding, or perfect your exam technique, I’m here to help. My sessions are engaging, encouraging, and designed to make you feel confident — even with the toughest topics.

I really recommend Anna as a science tutor. I was a year11 student last year who struggled with GCSE biology and couldn’t get any higher than an 4/5, until I started tutoring with Anna and got an 8. Since she had sat her GCSEs not many years ago she could really relate with me and knew exactly how I felt. I really liked her teaching approach which involved making sure I understood the content first and then helping me further consolidate what knowledge through practise questions and by helping me understand what the examiners are actually looking for to get high marks, rather than simply answering the question.
