About Katie
I feel that having an understanding of sciences makes everyday life more interesting as it allows you to think about the world around you from a different perspective and shows that everything is more than it seems. For example, if you look out of a window and see a tree you could just think of it as a tree or, using your understanding of science, you could think of it as a complex life-giving system of cells and could appreciate the importance of that tree in the bigger picture.

One of the things I love most about science is how logical it can be. Once you understand the logic behind a concept you can use that logic to tackle other challenges. Due to this, I think the most important thing to do when learning science is to focus on fully understanding the fundamental groundwork. From there you can learn the methodology for working out more complicated concepts. I also believe it is essential to not only think about what each concept is, but also how it is caused and why that process occurring is important for a system, or even for the entire universe. Studying like this helps you to link areas of science together making it more engaging and revealing some of the mysteries of nature.
