About Sofia
Hi, I'm Sofia and I'm currently on a gap year. During my own A-Levels, I experienced first-hand how stressful and overwhelming exam periods can feel, especially in essay-heavy subjects where small mistakes in structure or technique can cost valuable marks.
At times, I found myself needing clearer guidance on how to approach essays and meet the exact criteria examiners look for. Once I understood how mark schemes worked and how to structure high-level arguments effectively, my confidence and performance improved significantly.
That experience is what motivated me to tutor. I want to help students avoid unnecessary stress, feel more in control of their exams, and develop the skills needed to consistently achieve high marks. My focus is not just on content, but on exam strategy, clarity of argument and writing with precision under pressure.

I offer A-Level tutoring in History, Classics and Politics and GCSE tutoring in History, English and Religious Studies. I achieved top grades at A-Level in these subjects and have a clear understanding of what examiners look for in high-mark responses.
My sessions (roughly 1–1.5 hours) are tailored to you following an initial consultation.
I focus on refining essay structure, strengthening argumentation, sharpening analysis and mastering exam technique — the areas that make the difference between mid-band and top-band marks.
Having completed my A-Levels recently, I understand both the academic demands and the pressure students face. My aim is to help you write with clarity, confidence and precision so you can consistently achieve the highest grades possible.
