I am a dedicated Chemistry and Mathematics UTM student with strong academic background (cGPA: 3.96/4.00) with experience supporting undergraduate students. Teaching methodology and techniques:
I focus on building a strong foundation/understanding of the core concepts, followed by practice problems to reinforce the comprehension. I break down the problems into manageable steps with detailed explanation by asking guiding questions. I also modify my teaching style based on suitable students' learning styles.
Typical session plans:
I spend the first few minutes to review the concepts and go over the problems that students may have struggled/encountered. Then, I introduce new concepts and reinforce the understanding by showing an example of practice problem. I give students some time to solve the problem independently, and then encourage students to solve together in order to enhance collaborative skills.
What sets me apart as a tutor:
I pay attention to small mistakes that students may encounter with a supportive and patient manner. My experience in Chemistry and Mathematics allows me to relate abstract ideas into tangible/intuitive examples, and prioritizes consistency to help the students succeed.
My lessons are designed for high school students who are interested in a science program or undergraduate courses, especially Organic/Inorganic Chemistry and Thermodynamics.
