Shannyn is a colleague of mine from TFA and she is an incredibly dedicated teacher! If her students are having trouble understanding a concept, she doesn’t give up on them. She tries a variety of approaches until her student succeeds. Not only does she have classroom teacher experience but she also has experience as a reading interventionist and is ASL certified (incorporates this in the classroom). I trust Shannyn as a teacher because of her loyalty to her students and her diverse skill set!

Both of my children have had the privilege of being tutored by Shannyn over the last 5 years and I cannot express my gratitude enough! We met Shannyn when she taught at my son’s school in Orangeburg. At the time my oldest son was 7 and struggling with reading comprehension and my husband and I tried everything we could at home but nothing was working. It wasn’t until Shannyn started tutoring him that we realized he wasn’t comprehending because he still didn’t know how to properly read!
Just after 3 months of working with Shannyn his ability to read and comprehend improved immensely. Shannyn was able to give him the one on one attention he needed. Her welcoming manor made him feel less intimidated by books and just after 6 months (weekly) with Shannyn my son was actually excited for bed stories! Never thought we’d see the day.
My younger son also worked with Shannyn when he was 9 and her detailed approach to his reading & writing challenges made all the difference. Her grouping exercises and technique were something my husband and I were able to help him with as well. We really liked that Shannyn was able to provide us these tools.
Both of our kids our now in middle school without any English challenges and we owe a lot of this to Shannyn! My husband and I cannot recommend Shannyn enough, the difference she makes is invaluable!

Shannyn is such an incredible and thoughtful leader! She always lends an empathetic ear and is able to adapt and redirect her approach to ensure each individual student is learning through methods that work best for them. I highly recommend Ms. Kleeman!
