About Korey
My childhood was very musically oriented since my Dad played the piano and my Mom played the oboe. What this means is that ever since I could talk, I was constantly learning the art of music and its intricacies. This constant musical envelopment from my immediate family turned out quite well because ever since the start of my career as a pianist, I haven't looked back. I began competing in festivals and concerts alike since 2011 where my threshold for success and capabilities skyrocketed. I'd be lying if I said having competition of similar or higher level didn't push my limits for the better. I'm all about setting clear goals so when we reach them it reinstates that wholesome feeling of success. I may have a knack for competition and achievements however they only hold material value. My true passion is being able to teach the masses the ability to play confidently and precisely perform to the highest degree under my guidance. A scary statistic that will catch majority of people off guard is that 99% of students will quit within 3 years. Reasons may vary but early departure usually occurs under the following circumstances: - The parent/student focus on the material items such as certificates and rewards. This causes them to lose sight of the bigger picture; their ability to develop lifetime skills. - The parent/studio operate under the premise that their child is fully responsible for their own success. - Student reaches a plateau and tends to stagnate. (This is especially common in higher levels. I relate too!) Parents may fear their child dropping out after countless hours and dollars spent on lessons. With this method, the fear of resignation will be non-existent since it utilizes long-established education principles and methods to develop high achieving pianists who will continue to play throughout their lives.

One of my highly effective piano teaching methods that emphasize sight reading, ear training, and singing capabilities is known as the Comprehensive Musicianship Approach (CMA). This method is designed to develop a well-rounded musician by focusing not only on technical proficiency but also on the development of a strong musical understanding and expression. In CMA, sight reading plays a central role. Students are taught to read musical scores fluently, enabling them to play new pieces accurately and confidently. They learn to quickly identify musical symbols and notation, improving their ability to interpret and execute pieces with precision. Ear training is another vital component of this approach. Students are guided to listen attentively to various musical elements, such as rhythm, melody, and harmony. Through exercises and activities, they develop their ability to recognize and reproduce different musical patterns by ear. This cultivates their sense of musicality and helps them play with greater expressiveness. Singing capabilities are also given significant importance in CMA. Students are encouraged to vocalize the music they play, developing their sense of pitch, phrasing, and interpretation. Singing helps establish a strong connection between the mind, voice, and instrument, enhancing musical understanding and fostering a deeper connection to the music being performed. Overall, this method offers a holistic approach to piano education, combining sight reading, ear training, and singing capabilities. By incorporating these elements, students gain a comprehensive understanding of music and become well-rounded musicians capable of interpreting and performing a wide range of repertoire with skill and artistry.

Perfect! patient, understanding, really knowledgeable
Perfect! He was incredibly patient and communicative with my son and helped his first lesson to go incredibly well. I strongly recommend.
Perfect! Korey is young and far knowledgeable beyond his age. He was fun and interesting personality. to deal with. Korey kept my girls very interested and engaged during lessons. Korey was very motivating and encourage more interest in subjects matter. Korey ended lessons with mini question and answer session. He was very patient and precise with his answer. Korey also encourage critical thinking in my young ones. I find Korey very suitable for young piano learner. He suggested to me so many suitable studies strategies for my young ones. I am so pleased to have met Korey.
Perfect! I have had great experiences with Korey, he is extremely talented and has a passion for music that helps motivate you to learn. He is also very patient and supportive. I started lessons with Korey with very minimal knowledge of the keyboard so I had lots of questions which he happily answered and made sure I understood each topic before moving on to the next. I highly recommend working with Korey whether you are looking to just learn the basics or want to pursue lessons for the long term!
