I am a qualified teacher and have been a private tutor for the last 2 years. I specialise in the AQA English Literature and Language GCSE curriculum. I support students from Year 7 to Year 11 (ages 11–16), whether they need to build strong foundations at Key Stage 3 or focused exam preparation for GCSEs. I can also help older students re-sit (aged 16 - 18).
I tailor each lesson to the individual, helping students of all abilities work towards their goals. Lessons combine structured teaching, exam-focused practice, and interactive discussion to build knowledge, confidence, and exam technique. I bring my own resources, worksheets and detailed notes on the texts.
For English Literature, I can tutor:
- Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest, Julius Caesar
- The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, A Christmas Carol, Great Expectations, Frankenstein, The Sign of Four
- An Inspector Calls, Blood Brothers, DNA, Lord of the Flies, Telling Tales
- Love and Relationships, Power and Conflict, Worlds and Lives Poem Clusters and Unseen Poetry.
- A view from the bridge, The Crossing, A Monster Calls and Of Mice and Men.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, with options for 90 minutes, and can be scheduled 1–3 times per week depending on availability.
