About Jasmine
As a History Specialist, this subject has always been my favourite; one that offers the chance to explore the past, present and the future. A vital subject which allows the young people in our society to learn, evaluate and potentially create change for the world. We must equip our young people with the ability to think critically, create judgement and evaluate events of the world with careful consideration and respect. It is vital that we enhance pupils’ understanding of British history and the world as it is today – from the event Norman England, right through to current affairs of how Covid 19 has affected our lives. History is a subject which allows every pupil to be heard, their opinion to be voiced and their misconceptions to be corrected and even challenged. I have always been passionate about History and education – as a History teacher I am able to combine the two. From a young age I have been aware of the rewards of education, of the opportunities it can provide. My passion for History grew throughout my time at school, university and, most importantly, at home; I have been determined that each child that I teach is aware of the relevance and importance of History. My love for History also stems from being a second generation child in the UK, whose parents worked and served in the interest of the country and upheld strong British values. We must teach our young people that identity is what will always carry us through, and we must create a world that is inclusive and respective of that. History allows us to develop those areas of understanding and tolerance through our world’s history. Values of courage, excellence, perseverance, and respect is imbedded within our history and are core values to the development of any individuals. Through hard work, difficulties and belief of persevering is what creates drives my passion and love for History.
