About Oli
I am a dedicated STEM tutor with a background in Mechanical Engineering and Maritime Engineering and a genuine passion for making science and maths accessible to everyone. Over the years, I have helped students at different stages of their education grow in confidence, improve their grades, and develop a stronger understanding of STEM subjects. What sets me apart is my patient and supportive teaching style. I understand that every student learns differently, and I take pride in creating a learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and challenge themselves. As a tutor, I am reliable, organised and committed to helping my students succeed. I combine my academic knowledge with practical strategies to build not only subject understanding but also problem-solving skills and exam confidence. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to meet each individual’s needs, strengths and goals. My approach focuses on breaking down complex STEM concepts into clear, manageable steps, using real-world examples to make Maths, Physics and other STEM topics more engaging and accessible. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, though I can adjust the length to suit the student’s preferences and learning style. A typical session includes reviewing key ideas, guided practice with problems, and clear feedback to build understanding and confidence. I am an engineering graduate with experience supporting students across different abilities and age groups, from Primary and Secondary through to GCSE and A Level. Whether a student needs help catching up, improving grades, or stretching towards higher achievement, I provide structured support tailored to their goals. My aim is to create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, while building the problem-solving skills and confidence they need to succeed in STEM and beyond.
