About Ben
I’m a qualified Secondary Physical Education teacher at Ross High School, having graduated in 2023 with a First Class degree in Physical Education from the University of Edinburgh. I have three years’ experience teaching Higher and am also a current SQA Higher Physical Education marker. Alongside teaching, I’m a keen long-distance runner, previously played rugby for Boroughmuir, and regularly play golf, which allows me to use relevant, real-world examples from endurance, team, and skill-based sports to support learning.

I take an exam-focused, structured, and personalised approach to tutoring, using SQA exam questions and marking instructions to show pupils exactly how marks are awarded. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, delivered online, focusing on improving exam technique and written performance, with clear teaching on how to respond to SQA command words and structure answers to access full marks. I break down exam questions step by step, helping pupils identify what the question is really asking, link responses directly to performance examples, and apply the correct depth and language expected by markers.
