About Yvonne
A qualified English Teacher and Employability Advisor - I have spent many years supporting others to achieve their learning and career goals. Although recently retrained in the lifelong learning sector, I have taught GCSE English Language at leading colleges in Manchester and have inspired students to achieve their desired grades. As well as supporting students with academic achievement, I offer a number of writing interventions including, assistance with covering letters, CV's, personal profiling, UCAS, (entry into university), psychometric testing (career/job matching tool) and transferable skills awareness.

A warm, friendly person, I have a creative, innovative approach - engaging learners through relevant and relatable resources. I have inspired, motivated and raised aspirations of my learners through demonstrating a passion for my subject; using popular culture / film motifs to make learning fun and achieve desired grades. I favour a Humanist approach; seeing every learner as a unique biography, providing choices, whenever possible, with respect to activities / completion of tasks. I have been mindful and inclusive towards learners with autism, social anxiety and have catered for their needs in terms of activities and assessment.
