About AK
Hi there! I am a passionate, friendly, and open-minded Japanese native speaker currently based in Japan.
Travel and cultural exchange are huge parts of my life. I studied in Belgium as an exchange student and later worked in Canada and Australia. Through these amazing experiences, I fell in love with connecting with wonderful people from all over the world. Outside of teaching, I love dogs, wombats, and always learning new things.
Having learned English since I was 10 years old, I achieved a TOEIC score of 960 and earned my iTESOL certification. I am also currently learning survival Spanish. Because of this, I deeply understand how challenging—yet incredibly rewarding—it is to learn a foreign language.
With 2 years of experience as an English teacher, I completed the Japanese Language Teacher Training Course to help others discover the joy of Japanese. I can’t wait to meet you!

【Our Lesson Style】
In my Zoom lessons, we mainly follow the "GENKI" textbooks to build your Japanese skills step-by-step. I teach in Japanese (direct method) so you can fully immerse yourself in the language. However, please don't worry—English support is available whenever you need it.
【Mistakes are Welcome!】
Making mistakes is a natural and important part of learning. My goal is to guide you through the textbook curriculum with zero judgment and plenty of encouragement.
