About Michelle
My name is Michelle and I am a qualified secondary school science teacher with a strong passion for Biology, Chemistry and helping students succeed in science. I chose to become a teacher because I enjoy making difficult ideas easier to understand and seeing students gain confidence in subjects they once found challenging.
Through my experience teaching in secondary schools, I have worked with students of many different abilities and learning styles. This has helped me develop a patient and flexible approach so that each student can learn in a way that suits them best.
I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to work closely with students and really focus on the areas they need the most support with. Whether a student wants to improve their grades, prepare for exams, or simply understand science better, I aim to make lessons clear, encouraging and engaging.
Seeing students begin to understand a topic that once confused them and watching their confidence grow is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.

My approach focuses on making complex topics simple and logical. I break concepts down step by step, use diagrams and real examples, and check understanding regularly throughout the lesson. I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique, helping students learn how to structure answers, interpret questions and avoid common mistakes.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged if students are preparing for exams or covering larger topics. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs. This might include reviewing class material, preparing for upcoming tests, practising past exam questions or strengthening weaker areas.
I aim to create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students feel more confident and capable in science.
My lessons are suitable for secondary school students studying Biology, Chemistry or general Science at any level, including those preparing for school exams or national examinations.
