About Lauren
I'm a qualified English teacher based in Sheffield. I love my subject and reading is an essential part of my daily routine. I feel like this is such an eye opener; once we feel confident reading, it's so much easier to learn about the world and the people around us. When we regularly experience stories outside our own experience, we become more well-rounded and empathetic people. I love to share this with students, who can feel resistant to reading. One of my main goals as a teacher and tutor is to show students that challenges can be exciting! We just need to tackle them step by step and know that we're safe to stumble along the way.

Hi! I’m Lauren, a qualified English teacher based in Sheffield. Tutoring is something that’s very important to me, as I love to help others learn and feel that a little extra help can sometimes be the difference between your child achieving their potential or not! I've tutored and taught in the UK/Japan and worked online with students in Afghanistan. In the past I've supported students aged 3-19, but my specialism lies in teaching Y7-Y11 students. I love English as a subject and strongly feel that a teacher's passion can often make the difference in how students respond and achieve. Whatever your needs - literature or language - I'm more than happy to tailor online lessons to your needs. Lessons are typically an hour, but I would be open to longer slots if these would be helpful. During a lesson, I'll share slides with key points, make use of interactive and creative activities, encourage discussion of texts, and give live feedback as students work in a shared document.
