About Anna
I love Modern Studies and get a lot of joy working one to one with pupils to build their confidence and help them get the grades they deserve. I have had great success with pupils I have tutored for their exams.
I have been a high school teacher since 2019 and I have taught all levels of Modern Studies.
Before going into Modern Studies teaching, I taught English as a foreign language in Spain, Poland, Thailand, London, Glasgow and here in Edinburgh.
I enjoy baking, swimming and dancing and I am currently trying to incorporate more hill walks into my life.

About the lesson

We can do lessons online or in person. Our first lesson will be free and will be used to get to know the pupil and their learning style and aims.
I will then plan lessons accordingly. I am enthusiastic and supportive and I will keep pupils engaged and on track to achieve the best they can.
I will help pupils to figure out strengths and weaknesses and have a solid plan for tackling exams, using tried and tested exam technique and individual tactics. We will do lots of past paper work and break down good examples so pupils can visualise what a great answer is.
I will set homework to ensure pupils can get practice in between times (depending on their schedule).

Anna was my modern studies tutor for around 3 years. I have never met somebody so kind and supportive of their profession but also as a person. Through every step, Anna helped me with absolutely whatever I needed in the ways that were best for me by getting to know me on a deeper level as a person. I couldn’t recommend her more and have told anyone in school who I know about her if they are struggling or just need an extra boost. Sometimes I wish I could go back to my sessions weekly with Anna as they really made my week. We still stay in contact and see each other when we can now, which says it all! She got me from something that would’ve been a fail grade to a high B both years, which was really hard to do for me, as I am not naturally intelligent. Without Anna’s amazing help, I would’ve been nowhere both years! Couldn’t recommend more.
