About Samuel
I am a patient and highly attentive teacher who prioritises creating a calm, supportive environment in which students feel confident to engage fully with their learning.
I place particular emphasis on identifying gaps in knowledge and securing strong foundational understanding, while systematically developing the skills and exam techniques required for top academic performance. I also specialise in supporting pupils with SEND, adapting my teaching to meet individual needs and ensuring that every student can access the curriculum with confidence.
Alongside this, I am committed to stretching and challenging pupils to reach their full potential. My approach combines encouragement with high expectations, ensuring that students not only build confidence but also achieve ambitious outcomes.

I focus on identifying misconceptions and gaps in knowledge to build pupil confidence and develop strong exam technique. My teaching combines clear explanation, targeted questioning, and regular retrieval practice to ensure students retain and apply their knowledge effectively. I also tailor lessons to individual learning styles, using a structured but flexible approach to maximise progress.
I am currently a Latin teacher at a secondary school in London, where I achieved ‘excellent’ progress against the Teacher Standards during my training. Alongside teaching mainstream classes, I have significant experience supporting pupils with SEND, adapting approaches to suit a range of needs.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, though timings can be flexible depending on individual requirements.
My lessons are best suited to students preparing for (I)GCSEs and Common Entrance, but I am also happy to support younger learners looking to build strong foundations in Latin.
