About Thomas
A passion for animal biology led me to pursue bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biology. I spent a few years teaching in China before completing a PGCE in secondary Biology, and then gained 8 years experience teaching both combined and separate sciences to GCSE in a challenging Bristol school. In that time I worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds and gained mastery in teaching the full breadth of the three scientific disciplines. As of September 2025 I have made the decision to move to full-time tutoring.

I am non-judgemental and patient and have taught a wide range of abilities successfully for many years. If you feel you don’t understand science I will help to find your misconceptions and fill the gaps in your knowledge starting from fundamentals and building up. If you are striving for the top grades I will guide you to find the linking and improvements in your exam answers that will make the difference. I am a biology specialist but have taught both chemistry and physics to GCSE level for many years.
