About Jim
I wrote my first code over 40 years ago and have followed the evolution of computers and programming since then. Most "self-taught" programming students focus on and eventually learn the syntax of any given language but don't learn how to design and write good code. Until later when they have some experience. I'll teach you the mindset to become an outstanding programmer. At its core, this involves problem solving which begins with how to define the problem you want to solve. Wouldn't it be nice to have a personal guide to help you avoid the many pitfalls along your journey to becoming an outstanding computer programmer? Python is the perfect first language to master on this path. Today, being "self-taught" to program is viable and acceptable, let's start you on your way together.

I will show you how to set up your computer to begin coding in Python. Then introduce the basics and help you on your individual path to becoming a Python pro. What not to do is as important as what to do and we'll cover both. Also, software tools such as development tools and AI, to name just a couple. When we are done, you'll be ready to write Python code in a professional environment. I can keep you from getting "stuck" and moving toward becoming a programmer using Python coding best practices.
