About Anthony
I bring a career's worth of professional discipline to tutoring. Before turning to tutoring, I spent years in classical music administration, writing program essays for organizations including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the American Youth Symphony, the Aspen Music Festival and School, and the Los Angeles Master Chorale, work that demanded precision, deadlines, and the kind of editorial rigor that leaves no room for a sloppy sentence. Earlier in my career, I worked in legal support at Latham & Watkins, drafting and formatting documents where a single misplaced word carried real consequences, discipline that has remained with me ever since. I'm currently completing a degree in Business Administration and have maintained Dean's List standing along the way, with law school ahead, so I understand firsthand what it takes to write clearly under real academic pressure, not just in theory. Writing remains a pleasure for me as well, not just a professional obligation; I still write essays for their own sake, outside any assignment or deadline. I take punctuality, preparation, and follow-through seriously, and I treat every session as a professional commitment, not a casual chat. You can expect clear communication, honest feedback, and a tutor who learned to write under demanding editorial scrutiny long before teaching anyone else to do the same.

My approach treats writing as a craft, not a checklist. We work from the sentence up: precision of word choice, control of structure, and clarity of argument, before moving to the larger questions of voice and organization. A typical lesson begins with a short diagnostic read of your work, followed by focused revision on the one or two issues doing the most damage, whether that's grammar, structure, or unclear reasoning, and closes with a concrete plan for the next draft. My own style has been shaped by years as a voracious reader of the best prose stylists, and that habit informs how I read and edit student work. My background in classical music administration and published essay writing for major orchestras has trained me to edit with an ear for rhythm and economy, qualities most tutors never address. I work well with students preparing college application essays, high schoolers refining grammar and mechanics, and adult learners returning to formal writing after years away.

Anthony is so easy to work with. I've known Anthony for about fifteen years, and I can say without hesitation that he's one of the most knowledgeable people I know when it comes to English — grammar, sentence construction, and writing style all come naturally to him. He's written program notes for orchestra concerts I've produced and provided narration for radio spots, and in every case his writing was clear, polished, and exactly right for the audience. Beyond his skill with language, he's a patient teacher and genuinely great company — the kind of person who makes learning feel easy rather than intimidating. I'd recommend him without reservation to anyone looking for a tutor who combines real expertise with real warmth.
I’ve known Anthony as a peer and fellow writer for more than 20 years, and I can attest to his intellectual curiosity and genuine gift for the written word. He is an exceptional communicator and a natural teacher, with an easy ability to break down complex ideas and subject matter into engaging and manageable terms. Anthony brings both depth and approachability to his work, and I would recommend him to any student looking for thoughtful, highly capable instruction.
I've asked Anthony to proofread several of my work documents. His writing is impeccable!
Anthony and I have known each other for a few years now through a philanthropic organization to which we both belong. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know him and working with him on many different projects.
Some of Anthony's most amazing qualities, but not all, are that he is genuine, kind, sincere and has a wonderful spirit that makes you feel as though you did a good job on a written project....but with just a few tweaks. He's always willing to help and has keen insight into the written language and how best to use it and get your message across.
I highly recommend Anthony and his skills to help sharpen yours!I have always been incredibly impressed by Anthony and the eloquence of his writing. He generously supported my restaurant by writing thoughtful letters of recommendation and spearheading a Change.org campaign that garnered thousands of signatures.
As both a loyal patron and passionate advocate, Anthony went above and beyond to help support our business.
