About Ana Luisa
Hello! My name is Ana Luisa, and I’m currently studying Psychology at McGill University, with minors in Behavioral Neuroscience and History. I offer tutoring in French, English, and history for all levels, as well as math and science for elementary students. I want my students to feel confident, curious, and proud of their progress. Every student is capable of success — sometimes, all it takes is the right guidance and a little motivation!

As a tutor, I believe that learning is most effective when students feel understood, supported, and inspired. My background in psychology and behavioral neuroscience allows me to adapt to each student’s unique learning style and pace, making every lesson both accessible and enjoyable. Teaching Methods: - I emphasize understanding over memorization for subjects like history, French, and English. - I encourage students to connect to the material and think critically. - I use visual aids, examples from daily life, and fun games to keep students engaged in the material. - I focus on building motivation, confidence, and independence. Each session begins with a quick check-in to review what the student is learning at school and identify any concepts that the student finds challenging. We then move into the main learning segment, where I explain new concepts using simple language, examples, and interactive exercises. I finish each lesson with a recap and a mini goal for the next session. I bring a deep sense of empathy and understanding to my teaching. My volunteer experience at Camp Garagona, working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and creativity in communication. Being fluent in four languages (English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish) also allows me to adapt easily to multilingual learners and diverse educational backgrounds. I offer personalized tutoring in French, English, and history for all levels, as well as math and science for elementary students.
