About Kiruba
I chose to step into Psychology's world because for as long as I can remember, I have carried the curiosity about people. We are all called "human", yet no two of us are shaped the same.
Growing up, I often wished others understood the reasons behind our differences, beginning with why we think, feel, and behave the way we do. This curiosity became the doorway that led me into psychology, and eventually, into teaching it.
Choosing to explore this was not only to attempt the people but also to develop comprehension on myself. Teaching Psychology now allows me to explore human complexity's beauty with students, assisting them to see people with awareness, empathy, and depth.
Along the same lines, I would love my students to feel that they have accepted the right invitation to step in. The invitation to wonder, to think, to question, to imagine, to challenge, and to contribute. It is a place where evaluation is not the whole point, but exploration is. A place where thinking is not limited to the content of teaching material, but expands into the world they live in.
Education has not always been an accessible privilege to everyone, and that reality continues to shape the way teaching is approached.
Being granted the chance to learn and now to teach is not something merely viewed as an opportunity, but as a responsibility to offer knowledge with sincerity as well as to hold the teaching role with gratitude. What matters to me is not how students describe me as their lecturer, but how they see themselves by the end of the lessons.
If even one student walks away feeling capable, seen, or grounded in their own potential because of the learning environment we built together, then I can be sure that something meaningful has taken place.
Equally important, teaching comes to life when students feel the connection to what they are learning. When a discussion mirrors something they have lived, when a story makes a point clearer, or when an example helps them see a situation differently. Activities, discussions, and shared reflections help in turning theories into something they can relate to in their daily lives.
Thus, I believe Psychology becomes more than academic content when students recognize pieces of themselves within the concepts we explore. In those moments, learning stops feeling like memorization and begins to feel like discovery.
Building on this perspective, what guides my teaching comes from a place that looks past the surface. I believe that curiosity keeps us alive, empathy helps us care, honesty makes discussions real, and respect ensures everyone feels included.
These help students gain beyond information as they encourage students to explore themselves and the people around them with genuine intention. When students leave the class with acceptance of who they are and a kind view of others, the learning has moved past academic skills and into their growth as human beings.
At the heart of it, the lesson is not a place where only an educator stands at the front. Learning moves in both directions. Every idea students share, every question they ask, and every perspective they convey contributes in ways the lecturer alone could never achieve.
While titles may outline our roles, they do not measure the knowledge each person brings. Teaching is at its growing best when it is seen as a shared journey where both students and teacher agree to grow together.

I use psychology, to teach psychology. Memory techniques, active recall and spaced revision, so concepts can be remembered instead of cramming them.
Lessons are discussion-based, just like my usual classes. Explaining own ideas and relating it to real-life scenarios allows understanding to take space.
