About Josephine
As a dedicated psychology graduate currently pursuing my Master's in Applied Psychology, I bring both academic knowledge and real-world experience to my tutoring sessions. As a private tutor with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Applied Psychology in progress, I take a student-centered, compassionate approach to teaching. I specialize in tutoring high school students in math (particularly pre-algebra) and science (including biology), making challenging subjects approachable and understandable.
My Teaching Method:
I begin by assessing each student’s current level of understanding and learning style. I use a blend of visual aids, real-life examples, and step-by-step breakdowns to reinforce key concepts. My background in psychology allows me to apply principles of motivation and cognitive development to keep students engaged and confident.
Typical Lesson Plan:
5 minutes: Warm-up & review of previous material
15–20 minutes: Introduction of new topic using guided examples
15–20 minutes: Student practice with support and feedback
5–10 minutes: Recap and discussion of homework/study strategies
