About Ruth
I am a final-year student at the University of Oxford studying Psychology and Linguistics. I am passionate about ensuring that all students can enjoy and excel in school, especially in my favourite subjects! I achieved 9s in GCSE English Language and Literature, and an A* in A-Level English Literature. I still maintain an active interest in literature and have explored the science of language in my Linguistics degree. As well as being well-educated in this subject, I love supporting young people in their learning, while challenging them to do the best they can!

I have been freelance tutoring English Language and Literature for almost four years, both 1:1 and in groups. I love to personalise my lessons to each student's needs, interests, and goals. A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes and I often incorporate evidence-based methods such as active recall to support learning. I have worked with students of a variety of ages and abilities, and am confident in my ability to provide flexible, effective support for every client!
