About Willa
I became fascinated with programming during my undergraduate studies, when I realised how small logical steps could combine to create functional and impactful software. This led me to pursue a B.Sc in Computer Science and an M.Sc in Artificial Intelligence, developing expertise in algorithms, programming languages, and software design. Over 10 years, I have guided students from beginners to advanced coders, focusing on clarity, practical skills, and independent problem-solving.
My teaching approach is interactive, applied, and adaptive. Lessons combine structured explanation, real-world examples, and guided exercises, with emphasis on understanding the logic behind programming rather than rote memorisation. I encourage curiosity, experimentation, and independent thinking while maintaining a supportive learning environment.
Beyond teaching, I explore emerging technologies, personal coding projects, and software trends to bring contemporary relevance into lessons. Watching students progress from uncertainty to practical mastery, successfully building their own projects, is the most rewarding aspect of my career, motivating my continued dedication to programming education.

Programming lessons with me focus on building foundational skills, logical reasoning, and hands-on problem-solving. I teach Python, Java, algorithms, data structures, and software development principles through practical examples, guided exercises, and small projects. Lessons are structured to gradually build confidence, analytical skills, and independent problem-solving abilities, helping learners translate concepts into functional, real-world solutions.
Beginners focus on syntax, basic constructs, variables, loops, and functions through step-by-step guidance and interactive exercises. Intermediate learners work on object-oriented programming, debugging, modular design, and algorithmic thinking. Advanced learners explore optimisation techniques, API integration, project planning, and software design patterns. Each session includes code review, practice exercises, and conceptual reinforcement to ensure understanding and practical competence.

Students gain the confidence to design, implement, and troubleshoot programs while cultivating habits that extend to critical reasoning and logical analysis across disciplines.
