About Sterling
I have 10 years of experience teaching Computer Programming, helping learners gain both technical mastery and analytical thinking skills. I earned a B.Sc in Information Technology, which provided strong foundations in coding, software systems, and computational logic. Over my career, I have guided learners from beginner to advanced levels, designing lessons that combine theory, practical projects, and problem-solving strategies to foster confidence, skill, and curiosity.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes clarity, patience, and adaptability. I encourage learners to experiment, ask questions, and reason through challenges while providing step-by-step guidance to ensure comprehension and mastery. Lessons are personalized to match individual learning styles, promoting independent thinking and long-term retention of skills.
Outside teaching, I explore emerging technologies, software development trends, and innovative project applications to enrich my lessons. Programming becomes exciting when students understand both the underlying logic and the practical applications of code. My lessons cover Python, Java, C++, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, debugging, project planning, and full-stack application development. I emphasize conceptual understanding, problem-solving strategies, and hands-on experience while fostering a supportive environment that encourages curiosity, experimentation, and confidence. Real-world examples, interactive exercises, and stepwise explanations reinforce learning, making programming both practical and inspiring.
Lesson structure is customized for each learner’s level. Beginners start with variables, loops, conditionals, and small projects to build confidence and comprehension. Intermediate learners focus on modular design, recursion, debugging, and larger project development to strengthen analytical and logical skills. Advanced learners explore algorithms, optimization, API integration, software architecture, and real-world project deployment. Each session includes guided practice, discussion, and constructive feedback to cultivate problem-solving ability, coding mastery, and independent thinking.
