About Isla
My passion for programming began with exploring how small logical steps could create functional solutions, which led me to pursue a B.Sc in Computer Science and an M.Sc in Software Engineering. Over 9 years, I have mentored students of varying experience levels, focusing on transforming abstract concepts into practical, applied skills. My teaching emphasizes understanding why code works, rather than rote memorization, fostering both competence and confidence in learners.
I teach with patience, clarity, and adaptability. Lessons are interactive, incorporating hands-on coding, real-world examples, stepwise explanation, and practical exercises to ensure concepts are fully grasped. I encourage learners to experiment, think critically, and develop their own coding style while building strong technical foundations.
Beyond teaching, I stay updated on emerging programming trends, tools, and technologies to enrich lessons with relevance and practicality. Watching learners gain proficiency, solve complex problems independently, and develop creative coding solutions is immensely rewarding.
