About James
With over a decade of experience as a professional web designer and a commitment to teaching, I bring both expertise and passion to my lessons. I understand that learning new skills, especially in coding, can be challenging, so I create a supportive and engaging environment where students can build confidence step-by-step. My teaching method is interactive and hands-on, ensuring that each student not only understands the concepts but can apply them effectively.
Lessons are carefully structured to optimize learning and retention. With 30-minute sessions, we keep focus high, covering each topic from BBC Bitesize, followed by practical, real-world examples. This approach helps break down complex topics into manageable parts and reinforces learning in a meaningful way.
I teach students of all levels, from complete beginners to those looking to refine their web design skills. My aim is to provide students with a solid foundation in HTML and CSS and to inspire them to see the endless possibilities in the world of coding.

I take a hands-on, project-based approach to teaching HTML and CSS, ensuring students not only understand theory but also build practical skills through real-world projects. Each lesson is crafted to break down complex coding concepts into manageable steps, making it easy for students to build confidence as they progress.
Lessons are designed to be 30 minutes long, as studies show that shorter sessions optimize brain retention and focus. We’ll cover each topic from BBC Bitesize, then use real-world examples to deepen understanding. Depending on the pace at which topics are covered, we may need multiple sessions to fully explore all areas.
With over 10 years of professional web design experience and a passion for teaching, I am equipped to help students master HTML and CSS fundamentals and advance to more complex concepts. My background ensures lessons are up-to-date with industry standards and practices.
My tutoring is suitable for beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced students looking to strengthen their skills, ranging from ages 11 and up. I welcome students who are following school curricula as well as those interested in independent learning or preparing for web design careers.
