About Shantia
Singing has always been a significant part of my life, and helping others discover the joy and power of their own voice is a privilege I cherish. I believe that singing is more than just hitting the right notes—it’s an art form and a beautiful way to express yourself. My aim is to help students build confidence, develop strong technique, and explore their unique musical identity. I hold a degree in Music and have achieved Grade 8 in Singing, as well as the prestigious Gold RSCM Award in Singing. With over 15 years of singing experience, I have had the honour of performing nationally and internationally as part of my city’s choir for nine years. My experience includes performing at a variety of venues and working with singers of different levels and backgrounds. I have four years of teaching experience and specialise in working with beginners, helping them develop their vocal technique and performance skills in a positive and supportive environment. As an Enhanced DBS-checked teacher, I prioritise creating a safe space where students can experiment, learn, and grow without fear of making mistakes. Whether you're looking to improve your technique, build confidence, or simply discover the joy of singing, I tailor lessons to suit your goals and learning style.

Passionate singing teacher specialising in beginners. Lessons are fun, supportive, and tailored to your goals to help you build confidence and vocal skills. Lessons: From the very first lesson, I take the time to get to know you and your unique learning style. I ask questions about how you prefer to learn and tailor lessons based on your goals and progress. My teaching approach is flexible yet structured and consistent—always with an emphasis on making learning fun and engaging. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to develop your voice further, you’ll find a supportive environment to grow and thrive. What You’ll Achieve: With my lessons, you will: Build confidence in your vocal abilities. Develop strong technical skills, including breathing, pitch control, and vocal clarity. Improve your performance skills and musical expression. Mistakes are a natural part of learning, and in our one-to-one lessons, you don’t have to worry about feeling embarrassed. My goal is to create a safe space where you can explore your voice, overcome challenges, and develop as a confident singer. The First Lesson: Our first lesson will be all about getting to know you! We’ll discuss your goals and what you hope to achieve with singing lessons. I’ll introduce you to beginner-level vocal exercises, helping you feel comfortable with your voice and prepare for upcoming lessons. The session will be interactive, fun, and designed to set a strong foundation for your vocal journey. Availability: I offer lessons Monday to Friday, with some weekend availability. Location: Derby - In-person lessons take place at my home, providing a comfortable and supportive learning environment. For flexibility, I also offer online singing lessons. Qualifications and Experience: Degree in Music. Grade 8 in Singing. Gold RSCM Award in Singing. Enhanced DBS checked. Shantia is a great singing teacher. She’s patient, kind, and encouraging. She explains things clearly and gives me the time to improve at my own pace. Learning with her is really enjoyable, and I highly recommend her.
When I started lessons with Shantia, I was really bad at singing, and i mean really bad. Her patience and guidance completely transformed my voice. She explains techniques clearly, make lessons fun, and build confidence every step of the way. I never thought I’d improve this much in a short space of time, and I couldn’t have done it without her. If you’re looking for a supportive and skilled tutor, Shanti is the best choice!
