About LAURA
Laura began playing the violin aged six. During the early years, she performed solo, in duets and ensembles and own many prizes in local music festivals for he 'fiery' performance style. She studied at the Junior Guildhall with Simon Fischer and Kato Havas and gained wide experience -playing in piano trios and string ensembles -coached by the Brodsky Quartet.
She trained on the Profession Performers course at Trinity School of Music and graduated in 1996. Spending time in London, Barcelona, and Santiago, Chile, she has worked extensively with a variety of groups, performing in music and theatre productions, festivals and events. Over the years,her musical career extends from classical to funk/pop, folk, flamenco, Latin, Tango and Jazz -playing accoustic / and or electric violin.
Laura's international career has involves playing at corporate events with Vanessa Mae, Peter Gabriel and Sting ( while touring South America). She has toured Japan with a group of international musicians, the Symphonic Orchestra, and numerous string orchestras. Most recently, she has worked under the direction of Daniel Barenboim in Jerusalem, the West Bank and London.
Back in England after many years in Chile, she has performed with a variety of groups, and continues teach, coach and direct young performers as being part of her extensive career as a violin teacher. She is a member of the London Orchestra and has formed her own duo, performing at private events.
Laura's other passion is Latin dance, teaching , dancing and performing Salsa for many years.
