About Mark
Hello, I'm Mark and I have been a full time tutor for over ten years, currently working with a number of students, preparing them for GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and IB examinations. I have previous experience with tutoring students for exams set by the following examination boards: Maths A-Level: Edexcel, OCR, WJEC and AQA IB: International Baccalaureate GCSE: Edexcel, OCR and AQA IGCSE: Edexcel and AQA Chemistry A-Level: Edexcel, OCR, WJEC and AQA IB: International Baccalaureate GCSE: Edexcel, OCR and AQA IGCSE: Edexcel and AQA Physics A-Level: Edexcel, OCR and AQA IB: International Baccalaureate GCSE: Edexcel, OCR and AQA IGCSE: Edexcel and AQA When submitting a tutoring request, it would be very helpful if you could include the examination board that sets your exam, the number of hours per week that you require tuition, a preferred day and time, a preferred start date and whether there are any deadlines that you are working to. This will enable me to respond fully on first contact. ABOUT MYSELF I am a University College London graduate with a Masters in Natural Sciences. I majored in Organic Chemistry with Particle Physics as my minor. Prior to university I took the International Baccalaureate at Dartford Grammar School, reading Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at higher level. In my spare time I enjoy working out at the gym and I like to widen my knowledge of foreign languages. MY TUTORING APPROACH My experience has shown that when students receive regular tuition and have ample time to practise before their exams, they can develop a true passion for the subject and perform extremely well. Therefore, I do not put emphasis on haste, but rather on building solid foundations. When possible, I like to make tutorials interesting by not only covering the curriculum, but referring to real-life examples and making connections that go beyond what the exam boards ask for. I am truly passionate about Maths, Chemistry and Physics, a fact tutees often mention, and I have found my attitude to be contagious, much to the advantage of the students. Mark has been teaching my son chemistry for more than a year. He is an excellent tutor. He explains the topics extremely well. Mark supported my daughter through her Maths and Chemistry A Level study. He was always thoroughly prepared for every session my daughter had with him and made sure that she understood everything they covered before moving on. Mark tutored my son in Year 11 for Chemistry. Mark is an excellent tutor, planned lessons and made learning fun.
