About Emilie
Hello! I'm Emilie, an urban planner with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Master's degree in Urban Planning. With over 8 years of professional experience, I integrate a rich background in social structures, geography and city development into my tutoring. Before diving into urban planning, I spent 5 years as a tour guide and historic educator, where I developed a knack for making history and geography captivating and relatable. My approach to teaching is dynamic and interactive, designed to spark curiosity and inspire a deeper understanding of how our societies and cities are shaped. When I'm not drafting maps or discussing societal trends, I actively support initiatives that empower women in STEM and motorsports. Prepare to be engaged! My teaching style is all about interactive learning. We'll use gamified quizzes, virtual explorations, and real-time case studies to transform how you see the world. Each session is designed to spark your curiosity and encourage you to think outside the box while also connecting classroom theories with real-world applications.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
-We start with a fun icebreaker or a fact related to the day’s topic.
-Interactive activities or simulations where you'll tackle real challenges faced by planners and geographers.
-Engage in discussions, debates or lessons that highlight different perspectives within social studies and the day's subject to make sure we understand the concepts.
- A rapid-fire Q&A session to ensure you've nailed the concepts, followed by a quick recap that ties everything together.
