About Thomas
I'm an experienced guitarist, bassist and composer with a passion for teaching music. I have been teaching guitar, Latin American music, music theory and jazz improvisation for over 15 years. I was a professor at the jazz and pop music program at the University of Arts and Sciences of Chiapas(UNICACH), in Mexico for 5 years and earned a degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, USA. I'm also an active musician with numerous releases as a leader and sideman and regularly perform with a variety of projects in Europe and North America.

With over 15 years of experience teaching students of all levels, I have refined various techniques to teach you how to play in a natural and intuitive way that allows you to express your individuality on the instrument. I can also help you understand music so you can arrange your favorite songs and improvise freely without thinking too much.
Some of the topics I most often work with are: repertoire, improvisation, ear training, accompaniment, theory, technique, composition, and sight-reading. Each student has a personalized study program to accomodate their specific goals and needs. The styles I feel most comfortable with are jazz, blues,Latin American music, and rock. My approach aims to learn all aspects of music integrally and intuitively through selected repertoire, original etudes, and exercises. Lessons are given online via the zoom platform or in person in Berlin. Se habla español.
