About Ollie
I am a professional musician with a BA (Hons) Popular Music Performance degree from Southampton Solent University and have been working as a performing and teaching guitarist for the past 10 years. I teach all ages and abilities, from beginner bedroom guitarists wanting to strum along to their favourite songs, to gig-ready players who are looking to take the next step in their development.
Although I am a first study guitarist, I also teach bass, ukulele and music theory with a 100% pass rate for students I have entered for graded exams, so whatever your preference- you are in safe hands!

My lessons are always very much focussed on your interests, I want to work with you on the music that inspires you! In my experience, the biggest progress killer comes from not being enthusiastic about the music you are practicing. With this in mind, we will quickly establish exactly what is going to encourage you to pick up your instrument and play!
We will look at breaking down your favourite songs, focussing on different techniques and aspects of playing so that you will soon be playing along to the music that inspires you the most!
Music theory is also an invaluable skill to develop to give you a better understanding of your instrument and ultimately make you a better player. It can seem daunting (especially for beginners!) but we will slowly build your theory knowledge, integrating it with the study of songs so that you can see how different aspects of music theory are being used in a practical context.
