Here's how we would work out our guitar lessons, based on whichever point you are; Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced.
Beginner Level;
- Guitar basics – parts of the guitar, tuning, holding, posture.
- Finger exercises & basic picking/strumming patterns.
- Open chords (C, G, D, A, E, Am, Em, Dm).
- Simple chord progressions & switching smoothly.
- Strumming patterns with rhythm practice.
- Playing easy songs with open chords.
Intermediate Level;
- Power chords & barre chords.
- Scales – major, minor, and pentatonic.
- Chord inversions & movable shapes.
- Fingerpicking techniques.
- Introduction to improvisation (pentatonic soloing).
- Playing along with backing tracks & jam sessions.
Advanced Level;
- Advanced chord types (7ths, 9ths, diminished, augmented, extended chords).
- Modes & advanced scales (blues, mixolydian, dorian, etc.).
- Advanced soloing techniques (bends, slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, tapping).
- Genre-specific styles (rock, jazz, blues, funk, fingerstyle, etc.).

Raphael's teaching style is such a nice balance of structure and flexibility, you learn proper technique but he also lets you explore the kind of music you love. Every lesson feels really engaging, and I always come away with something new to practice that ACTUALLY feels doable for me. What sets him apart is how patient and encouraging he is, like even when I make mistakes, he turns it into a learning opportunity instead of a setback and that's one of the things that makes him unique. If you want a piano teacher who makes learning both fun and effective, Raphael is definitely the one.
