About Simon
Hello everyone,
I started playing the cello at the age of 6. After 10 years of classical cello lessons, I switched to the electric bass at the age of 16 to explore new musical styles.
My musical education took me to the Saar University of Music for my Bachelor of Music. After a semester at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim, I decided to transfer to the Mannheim University of Music, where I completed my Master of Music with a focus on jazz bass.
I am currently a member of various formations of different styles and have released two albums as a bandleader. My musical experience ranges from jazz to rock to fusion and funk.
My performances have taken me on two tours to Taiwan and to renowned jazz festivals in Germany, such as the Jazzopen Stuttgart, the Leverkusen Jazz Days and the Jazz Rally Düsseldorf. I have also performed at the International Music Festival "Sharq Taronalari" in Uzbekistan and have worked with the orchestra of the Saarland State Theater.
Another special experience was working as a musician on cruise ships for shipping companies such as Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean, which took me across Asia, the British Isles and Scandinavia.
Additionally, I run a YouTube channel with many solo bass videos where I share my musical ideas and techniques with the world.
These diverse experiences have shaped me not only as a musician, but also as a teacher who enjoys sharing his knowledge and passion with others.

Welcome to my electric bass lessons!
My lessons are aimed at all ages and levels, from beginners to semi-professionals. Whether you are just starting out or already have experience, my goal is to help you achieve your musical goals.
I believe that lessons should be tailored to the individual student. Therefore, I adapt my teaching style and content to suit your wishes and needs. Whether you want to explore different styles such as jazz, rock, funk or pop, I am at your side with my experience.
In my lessons we focus not only on playing pieces, but also on developing a solid technique, a thorough understanding of music theory and notation skills. We will work together on pieces that match your interests and use playalongs to encourage collaboration and improvisation.
Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your skills to the next level, I look forward to joining you on your musical journey!

Der Bass-Unterricht bei Simon macht Spaß und ist sehr effektiv. Ich habe bei ihm viel gelernt und konnte schnell Fortschritte machen. Simon ist sehr professionell, geht individuell auf seine Schüler ein und ist darüber hinaus auch noch sympathisch und geduldig. Ich bin begeistert.
Simon ist ein äußerst sympathischer, freundlicher und vertrauenswürdiger Top Profi-Bassist. Ich habe viele Jahre mit ihm in einer Band gespielt, u.a. auf der Jazz-Rally Düsseldorf, wo er der Star war. Er spielt virtuos, von melodisch bis funky. Er hat einen eigenen Stil und Sound entwickelt. Für mich gehört er zu den besten Bassisten, die ich kenne (seht euch seine youtube Videos an!). Ich bin sicher, dass er auch ein ausgezeichneter Lehrer ist, der auf den Kenntnisstand und die Wünsche der Schüler*innen eingeht, egal auf welchem Kenntnisstand sie sich bewegen.
