About Finn
Hi, I’m Finn, a Bristol-based drummer and tutor with a deep love for rhythm, creativity, and helping people grow behind the kit. I’ve been drumming for over a decade, with experience that spans a wide range of genres—from jazz, R&B, hip-hop, funk, pop, rock, punk, and metal (where it all began for me).
As an active working musician, I regularly perform at gigs, festivals, and private functions across the UK. I have had the privilege of opening for artists like Neue Grafik, Mahalia, Joe Armon Jones, and Hak Baker and playing festivals like Glastonbury, Boomtown, Jazz Stroud and Cheltenham Jazz festival…
I hold a degree in Professional Musicianship from BIMM University and began teaching soon after graduating. Since then, I’ve built up a wide range of teaching experience—working with students both privately and in schools, including SEND schools. I currently teach in several schools across Wiltshire and a private studio in Chippenham (Instinct Sounds), where I work with drummers of all levels and ages.
My own studio space is located at Joseph Studios which is based in central Bristol, right next to Factory Studios. It’s equipped with a high-quality acoustic kit, a wide selection of cymbals to suit all playing styles and a PA to play along to your favourite tunes.

I have experience teaching people of all ages and abilities! I know learning any instrument can feel daunting at times, so I focus on making the journey rewarding, enjoyable, and tailored to you. Whether you’re a total beginner, a young learner, or an experienced player looking to explore new grooves and concepts, my goal is to help you progress confidently and creatively. Lessons are tailored to your goals and experience level, with a focus on building confidence, creativity, and solid technique. With experience in successful auditions and a wide range of musical styles, I can help you grow as both a drummer and a musician.

Finn is a gentle, sensitive and highly skilled musician/drummer who is not only one of the best drummers I have ever heard, but is able to articulate and teach how and why his teaching process builds and expands drumming technique and skills for his students. I have been playing, performing and recording music for 40 odd years and rarely noticed a drummer who really adds to the sound. I would highly recommend Finn as your go-to drum teacher.
