About Alisha
Alisha Thompson is a London based professional dancer, choreographer, teacher and former dancer of Olivier award winning company Boy Blue Entertainment one of the UK’s leading Hiphop Dance Companies. Alisha trained at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance and then went on to attend The London Studio Centre where she received a BA Hons in Musical Theatre from one of the UK’s leading conservatoires of dance. Alisha has since danced with some of the best dancers in the world and her credits include Nike, Puma, Jingle Bell Ball, The Brits, Tik Tok, Dizzee Rascal, Jonathon Ross Show, FKA Twigs, Rina Sawayama, All Stars The Movie, 02 Arena, Shishedo, Vevo and has completed TWO USA TOURS to name a few. Alongside performing Alisha also teaches at an advanced level across the UK at many highly acclaimed dance studios and vocational training schools. Her dance style is a fresh combination of hiphop, jazz funk and commercial and technique a very eclectic mix creating a raw and unique style of movement.

My background is in both Commercial and hip hop and I currently teach at Pineapple Dance Studios. My teaching style is very much tailored to the individual. I like to create a safe environment for people to find their own style and learn how to express themselves and for it to be an enjoyable experience. I believe that this is the best environment for people to improve quicker. I have taught all abilities from beginners to professionals and love to see people's abilities and confidence improve. I like to break down the foundations of grooves in a warm-up to familiarise your body with the movement style. We work on musicality and choreography pick up. Throughout the class, I pay attention to the students' needs and give them corrections and tips throughout to enhance performance. We will work on a routine suited to your goals, if you have songs in mind you would like to dance to you can specify. My style is commercial dance with a hip hop influence I teach both routines in trainers and heels depending on what you prefer

Perfect! I’ve had the most positive experience taking dance classes with Alisha. She is very skilled and thoughtful, making sure that the student understands the new dance moves as well as feels comfortable during the classes. On top of that Alisha always fills the studio with great energy that makes you want to dance along and leaves you in a wonderful mood after practice. I was amazed how much I improved after only a few classes under her supervision!
Perfect! Alisha is an amazing instructor! As someone who had never taken a dance class before I was nervous to begin but was instantly put at ease just speaking to Alisha during our first class. Alisha pays attention to her students, from their strengths and areas of improvement to their personal music taste. She is encouraging and patient all at once.

I’ve been taking dance classes with Alisha for a couple years now and my progress wouldn’t have been the same without her! She always knows how to break things down for all levels and takes the time to explain things in detail, as well as the things you can do to improve while always being encouraging and supportive. She is extremely talented and always brings her enthusiasm to class. I have the best time in her classes and she has helped my confidence grow massively! Highly recommend.
Alisha is an excellent teacher. Not only is she knowledgeable, and immensely talented, but she has such a fun and personable way of teaching, that aids for great progression, without pressure. Would highly recommend!
