About Kriti
Bharatanatyam is my biggest passion :) I have been learning and performing Bharatanatyam for the past 15+ years and am a student of Guru Smt. Padmini Ravi from Bangalore. After completing my Arangetram in 2017, I performed at prestigious temples and events in Bangalore, Chennai, and the Bay Area. I also taught Bharatanatyam to large groups of students at a government school in Bangalore and organized two performances for them. I was awarded the National Women Excellence Award by the Government of India for my teaching and volunteering. I truly believe that students should understand the 'why' behind what they do to truly find their passion. I've made it my mission to teach the 'whys' behind Bharatanatyam to all my students.

I teach in-person at Sunnyvale, and online! I focus on body strengthening and flexibility so students can learn the correct body postures and avoid injuries. I also focus on teaching postures, Adavus, Hastas, and musical elements like Ragams and Talams. I explain the 'why' behind everything so students understand the logic behind whatever they learn in dance class.

Kriti is an excellent teacher! During the first few lessons, she not only taught my daughter the basic hastas but also some important stretches to get the body more flexible. It was nice to see that she gave importance to accessories as well. She also took her time explaining the meaning of different dance moves and poses, connecting them to historical context. My daughter is enjoying her lessons and learning a lot. Overall, I'd highly recommend her as a teacher!
